Track Overview:
Gianni Lee expands his transportive sonic universe, with his latest collaboration "Switch". The song features fellow Philly multi-creatives Tunji Ige & Andrea Valle. Andrea enters with a hypnotic lesson: "if I pulled a you on you, you wouldn't like that." While the track starts atmospherically with dreamy synths & found sound, it soon builds into an off-the-wall club music banger. Tunji shows his versatility over the uptempo switch-up before the piece descends back into its original pensive mystery. Undefinable & enigmatic, "Switch" engulfs the listener, and further demonstrates Gianni Lee's ability to be profoundly creative in both the visual and auditory arts.
Artist Quote:
"Switch is the timeless tale of someone tapping into their vulnerability to understand the implications and damage of their actions. It’s all about accountability…and who decides to take accountability when the shoe is on the other foot.
Musically I think Switch allowed me to be more free but also shows my development as a producer to use my influences in dance music. I grew up on dance music from my mother's influences in house music ( she played a lot of it at home ) or me developing my sound while being inspired alongside the likes of DJ Sliink, Nadus and Swizzymack. My early introductions to dance music helped shape my palette and it’s always dance elements (Club, Baile, & more) that I go back to when making my music. I have so many inspirations, different genres, and vibes, which I blend into a seamless work of art just like my paintings. I want people to move, even when they are standing still."
